Jan. 31st. Bright and cool. Drove over to
La Jolla
about twenty miles to see the
Bests leaving about eleven o'clock and got back about four P.M. The
ocean was beautiful and we could see the seals by the dozen. Mrs. Clark
went to lunch with a friend and we all met at the hotel and went out for
tea. Alice Earle phoned to see if we were going to be in so they came
down for the evening.
